Free Charity Skydives!

It's never too early to start planning your charity skydive. The earlier you book, the more money you raise for your chosen charity. And why not raise money for charity whilst having fun at the same time! It is now very popular for people to do something quite out of the ordinary such as jumping from a perfectly good aeroplane to raise money for a worthwhile cause. Skydiving is considered an extreme sport, not something for the faint hearted and so worthy of you asking your friends and family to sponsor you!

We provide 2 options when booking your charity skydive:

Option A - Use a portion of your sponsorship money to fund part or the total cost of the jump:

It is common practice for fundraisers to use some of the sponsorship money raised to pay a portion or the total cost of their charity jump. The level of sponsorship required will vary for each centre depending on the cost of your chosen course however by raising at least double the price of your jump, you will satisfy the charity’s expectations and get to jump for free! Click here for a list of fundraising targets for each course at each centre.

E.g. if a Tandem Skydive at your chosen centre is £250, you will need to raise at least £500 in sponsorship money, so that £250 covers the cost of your skydive with the remaining £250 or more going to charity.

If you don’t reach your fundraising target, divide in half what you have raised, sending half to the charity, putting half towards the cost of the skydive, making up the balance required for your skydive from your own pocket.

E.g. if a Tandem Skydive at your chosen centre is £250 and you only raise £300, you would send £150 to your chosen charity, put £150 towards the cost of the skydive and make up the £100 jump cost shortfall from your own pocket.

Please note that whilst you get a free charity skydive if you raise the minimum sponsorship money, it isn’t truly a free jump, as part of the sponsorship money covers the jump cost. Whilst this is considered to be acceptable as skydiving is considered to be more challenging than some more traditional fundraising events, please bear this in mind making every effort to raise more than the amount required to help your chosen charity.

Please also note that if you choose to have your skydive videoed (Tandem & AFF Level 1), you cannot claim this cost back from your sponsorship money.

Option B - Why not still raise money for charity, whilst also paying for the skydive yourself? Despite it now being accepted for charities to pay for people to skydive for charity in return for a donation that they wouldn’t have normally received, what would be even more fantastic is for 100% of the sponsorship money raised to be donated to your charity!

Getting started:

  1. Decide on which charity you would like to support. To see the charities that we currently work with, click on the drop down menu below. This list is always expanding, so if the charity close to your heart is not listed, contact us and we will make arrangements with the charity on your behalf. We do also already have agreements in place with a number of charities that are not listed on our site.
  2. Book your place at your chosen centre on a date that gives you sufficient time for you to reach your fundraising target. You can book online via our Booking Page or if you wish to speak to our charity team, call us on 01869 278706. You can also download a booking form from the information downloads page and post to us.
  3. A non – refundable deposit is required to confirm a place which will vary from centre to centre and course to course – see Fundraising Targets for a list of deposits and targets per centre for each course. If you have chosen Option A, this deposit will be reimbursed if you reach your fundraising target.
  4. If you have chosen option B, you will be expected to pay the remaining balance to the centre on the day of your charity jump.
  5. Please note that if you are raising money for a charity that is not listed on our website, do not assume that they will be happy for you to choose Option A. Contact us first to check whether we have a policy set up with your chosen charity.
  6. On receipt of booking, we will send you your fundraising materials, including sponsorship forms, instructions for setting up a fundraising page and a shiny poster to advertise your charity jump to attract sponsorship!

Methods for raising money:

Fundraising using an online donation page:
If your charity is happy for you to use some of the money raised to fund the skydive (i.e. option A), then normally you would need to set up a fundraising page with GoFundMe, our online fundraising provider, following the instructions we send you on receipt of booking, very carefully. Please ensure that you have booked your skydive first BEFORE you set up your fundraising page.

Once you have created your fundraising page, you can send the link to your page to all your family, friends and work colleagues!

We will contact you again, 1 week prior to your charity skydive, with a summary of your fundraising figures. We will communicate how much of the online money raised can be put towards the remaining cost of the jump and as well as whether any deposit reimbursement is due to you, ensuring that the charity will have received a minimum of 50% of the money raised.

It is also quite common for people to fundraise using a fundraising page as well as sponsorship forms.

Fundraising using traditional sponsorship forms:
When we send you your confirmation documents, we will also send you a sponsorship form. If you just fundraise using sponsorship forms, you will be responsible for managing your sponsorship money ensuring that a minimum of 50% of what is raised goes to the charity.

Assuming you reach your fundraising target, you can use some of the money raised to fund the remaining balance required on the day as well as reimburse your deposit.

If you haven’t reached your fundraising target, divide the amount in half, use half to fund part of the charity skydive, send the other half to charity, and then make up the shortfall required to fund the skydive from your own pocket.

You will have 4 weeks after the jump to collect your sponsorship money and then send a cheque to your charity.

Charity Skydiving Events:

Can't decide who you want to jump for? Fancy being part of a big fundraising group? Why not participate in one of the events below? This list will regularly be updated, so keep a look out for a charity skydive event that appeals to you!

Choose a date and location to suit you and contact Claire on 01869 278706 or email info@ukskydivingadventures.com for more details.

Points to note:

During the summer, some centres do get particularly busy especially at the weekends, and depending on the size of the group, in some cases you may need to give up to 6 - 8 weeks notice.

Even if you don’t reach your fundraising target, you will still be expected to complete your charity skydive on the day by the centre. So be prepared to pay any jump cost shortfall from your own pocket.
