Charity Tandem Skydive with St Catherine's Hospice

For 25 years St Catherine’s Hospice has been providing the highest quality of care, free of charge for people living within their referral area. St Catherine’s is more than just a building – it's a philosophy of care. They believe that alongside expert medical and nursing care, a person’s practical, emotional, social and spiritual concerns should be cared for as well.

Patients and their families are at the centre of everything they do, they listen and acknowledge their fears, worries and concerns and respond to the issues that are causing them anxiety. This highly personal, holistic approach to a person’s care takes time, skill and experience, plus a highly inter-disciplinary approach to resolving problems.

They care for people both in the hospice building and in their own homes, in fact over 70 per cent of their patients are cared for at home. They also have a Day Hospice which many people benefit from attending.

As a local charity, they rely almost entirely on the support of the community they help, to raise over £5.5 million each year - or in other words, 70 per cent of their annual £7.8 million operating costs. (30 per cent of operating costs are met through NHS and central government funding).

St Catherine’s is dear to many people’s hearts and they are very lucky to receive financial support from their local community. They critically rely on legacies, large and small to provide their vital service.
