Charity Tandem Skydive
with The Message
The Message Trust is an award-winning Christian charity committed to improving the lives of Greater Manchester?s most disadvantaged young people. Its activities include urban youth projects, schools programmes, work in prisons and in the community. Through innovative activities that are available to all young people, The Message Trust aims to engage the hardest-to-reach teenagers and enable them to fulfil their potential and make positive contributions to the communities in which they live. Over 15 years we have developed a knack for being able to get through to these young people, with the aim of bringing hope, providing opportunities and releasing potential. |

| Our prisons team is now established within 4 of the region's young offenders institutions, running a number of regular creative workshops aimed at developing new skills, addressing offending behaviours and increasing self-worth. The current project builds on that experience in response to growing demand for our input by prison governors and success in building relationships with inmates. |

| Counter to the popular culture of casual sex, drugs and materialism, our bands BlushUK, LZ7 and Twelve24, together with our theatre company In Yer Face, effectively communicate the Christian faith and a positive and relevant message of respect and self-worth. In assemblies, RE lessons and concerts, they use music and drama as powerful tools to explore life issues. |

| Eden is an initiative of The Message Trust and particularly focuses on those living in areas of greatest deprivation, to achieve their full potential in life. Over the last 15 years The Message has developed considerable skills and expertise in urban youth work interventions. Through partnership working with schools, churches, local authorities, GMP and other agencies their work is assisting the regeneration of the region?s urban communities by reducing the impact and risk of social exclusion amongst young people. Eden has a specific focus upon disadvantaged and disengaged groups of young people striving to enable them to re-connect with the broader community and become active local citizens who form part of the solution, not part of the problem. |

| In the last eight years The Message Trust has engaged in around one thousand community action projects, many in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and, as well has having a huge impact on the young people themselves, these have time and again proved to be a catalyst for long term crime reduction and transformation. |
