Charity Tandem Skydive in aid of L'Arche

L’Arche builds Communities of people with and without learning disabilities all over the world.

L’Arche Communities provide a framework of relationships and activities which support the
whole person, including their emotional and spiritual needs.

Through our ten Communities in the UK we offer a range of high quality, person centred
residential support to over 150 adults with a learning disability. Some people are supported in
their own homes for a few hours per week whereas others are supported twenty four hours a
day in our supported living services or registered care services. Support is provided by highly
motivated assistants who have chosen to share life with people with learning disabilities in our
houses or live close to them.

All of our houses provide good quality accommodation for people and where appropriate they
are adapted to the needs of the people supported. They are places where people experience
a real sense of being at home.

Some of our communities also provide day opportunities for people with learning disabilities
which encourage their creative skills and talents.

L’Arche Communities in the developing world are less fortunate. Many, like those we support
in East Africa, do not receive any state funding and rely on donations made here in the UK for
even the most basic needs.
