Charity Tandem Skydive in aid of The Foxton Centre

From its origins as a youth centre in Avenham in 1969, the Foxton Centre is a proud Preston charity and a strong community anchor …

From our community base we work with many people on the margins of city life – rough sleepers, street sex workers, young people in the Avenham district – who often face problems with poverty, addiction, and mental health issues.

Rough Sleepers
Through our outreach work we identify rough sleepers offering support, safety and resources – our winter watch programme, community cafeHousing First accommodation scheme, work experience and volunteering programmes all provide practical solutions to help people to move beyond their limitations; to learn, grow and flourish.

Street Sex Workers
With our Streetlink project we assist street sex workers – many of whom experience the same issues of homelessness, addiction, poverty and mental health – to tackle street violence, ensure sexual health and provide safe solutions to move forward in their lives.

Youth Work
Our youth clubs, ATR and Fox Kidz, meet regularly and the young people, supported by volunteers, have a crowd funded activity to regenerate a former local park space in Avenham as a community resource and safe space for young people and families. The project also creates a sense of ownership for those involved.

Working To Make Preston A Better Place

We can’t manage all this by ourselves – we work closely with a wide range of partners, organisations, volunteers and donors to provide active resources for people and communities in our city.
